It’s a funny old life.
Penstricken began as nothing more than a blog to get the old creative juices flowing. It was a place where I could share my passion for all things fictional. Nothing more.
Overtime it developed a modest following. I connected with other authors and book reviewers; conducted author interviews and published a few of my own stories. I was humbled to learn that some of my material was even being used by creative writing teachers.
Now it’s time for something new. I actually joked about it once many years ago, but now we’re taking a stab at it.
Penstricken is henceforth to become a quarterly literary journal, publishing short fiction, poetry and articles on writing online. As you can see, there is still a bit of work to be done on the website, however, if any of you early birds want to submit your work, you can find submissions guidelines here. You can also buy us a coffee or help towards running costs by donating here.
If you are a writer, please do consider submitting some of your work. I’m passionate about great fiction. I would dearly love to read some of yours and share my favourites with my little corner of the internet.
I’m excited about this. So… let’s see what happens!
