It’s a funny old life.

Penstricken began as nothing more than a blog to get the old creative juices flowing. It was a place where I could share my passion for all things fictional. Nothing more.

Overtime it developed a modest following. I connected with other authors and book reviewers; conducted author interviews and published a few of my own stories. I was humbled to learn that some of my material was even being used by creative writing teachers.

Now it’s time for something new. I actually joked about it once many years ago, but now we’re taking a stab at it.

Penstricken is henceforth to become a quarterly literary journal, publishing short fiction, poetry and articles on writing online. As you can see, there is still a bit of work to be done on the website, however, if any of you early birds want to submit your work, you can find submissions guidelines here. If you are a writer, please do consider submitting some of your work. I’m passionate about great fiction. I would dearly love to read some of yours and share my favourites with my little corner of the internet.
