I am very excited to announce that we are now accepting entries for our first ever flash fiction competition.  

The winner will receive a cash prize of £25. This amount may increase if we receive enough submissions. The winning entry will also be published in our summer 2025 issue of Penstricken magazine.

Unlike with our regular submissions, there is a small entry fee of £1.50. Please note this is only to ensure we are able to afford to pay the competition winner. Regular submissions to our magazine are free, and always will be.

The theme for the competition is ‘Let’s Stop Pretending’, but how you interpret that theme or work it into your story is entirely up to you.
