Congratulations to the winner of our ‘Let’s Stop Pretending’ flash fiction competition, Christi Krug for her fantastic flash fiction, ‘Trailer Etiquette’ 🎉🥇. We loved this story for its meaty protagonist, sharp sensory descriptions, and the way it made such good use of the limited word count to draw us into the life of its characters.
We will, of course, be publishing this story in our upcoming summer issue, Love and Hate, so keep your eyes peeled for that in the next couple of months.
While there can only be one winner, I would also like to congratulate a few other honourable mentions whose work also really stood out:
- Ashley Newell – ‘For The Love of Moose’
- CJ Payling – ‘Decorum’
- Lee Hulme – ‘Customer Service’
We will hopefully run a few more writing competitions in the future. In the mean time, general submissions for Love and Hate are still open. Click here to get your submission in before the 25th May deadline. It’s free to submit, and we’d love to hear from you 😀.
